Yes, finally it is coming. The Spring is here! Nature is slowly waking up, trees are stretching their branches and windows are yawning while being cleaned and waiting for their washed net curtains. Yes, it is here and all the spring work as well. You have to do the season cleaning in your house than prepare the garden for the new season, of course all the winter clothes need to be washed and changed for the spring ones…. But wait! This will get you just a season´s exhaustion. What shall really be done during the spring time?
All the animals stockpile fat before the winter comes and then live from it. The same thing is true for humans. Autumn and winter has filled you with lots of fat stored within your body. But not only fat is accumulated in there, also many toxins which may harm you. So you should try to get rid of that storage as soon as possible. Many people fast during the springtime. On the other hand in our globalized world we have fruit and vegetables even during winter so there is no need for any radical diets. What is the recommended way of spring cleaning in our body? There are many different fasts and you can take the one that is suitable for your health state. If you are not sure, you´d better ask your physician.
The first option is to eat no meat and reduce animal fat in your meals. Consume just some „light“ food. Prepare a lot of vegetable meals, add fresh green herbs. This kind of fast can last even a longer time, let´s say a month. After that start eating only white meat for some time, better boiled in the beginning. Then very slowly and carefully add other kinds of meat, again first boiled, after maybe a week roasted and finally stewed. Be very careful with fried meat! Don´t forget to use plenty of vegetables as a side dish!
The second fast is a bit more quicker. Choose a day when you will not be disturbed. Start a day before by eating just some light food, such as fresh fruit and vegetables. Do not consume alcoholic drinks, coffee and black tea and do not smoke. Then when the Day comes, drink just a plenty of water and stay in warmth. Some people are not able to spend a day without food, if this is true for you, drink fresh (homemade?) fruit or vegetable juices or just a vegetable stock. After the feast day start with normal food very slowly, choose something easily digestible, such as boiled rice and carrot with a bit of olive oil.
If you are able to do the absolute fast longer, it can take three days. Of course the adaptation should be much slower and will take longer time.
Pregnant women, children and ill people should not fast.
Do not forget that Spring Clean of your body must be inevitably connected to cleaning of your mind. Forget about the loads of work, just take your time, go for walks, work in the garden if it is relaxing for you and do a bit of light yoga exercises. Alow your mind to slow down and focus on the essencial things. That may bring you more health than any fasting!
